Rituximab Infusions

I have had SLE since I was 30. I am now 66. My flares are becoming more frequent and so I am about to go on the journey of Rituximab infusions and I wonder if someone would like to share their experience of their own journey and any results. Side affects? Did it work? Do you feel better better overall? Any tips for coping please would be appreciated. Thank you.

  1. There are quite a few community members who have experience with Rituximab.
I hope some will chime in here with their personal experiences. In the meantime, I'm sharing this link, which you may find interesting: https://lupus.net/disease-severity

  2. I’m 33 years old. I had my first Rituximab treatment in November 2022 with no side effects I tolerated it very well. I needed it because lupus was attacking my platelets, and thankfully, the results were excellent. I received another round in March last year, during my second pregnancy, and again, I had no issues. I'm still feeling perfectly fine now.

Overall, I've found Rituximab to be a highly effective treatment. I know it typically wears off after about six months, but in my case, I’ve been lucky it seems to have reset my system, allowing the benefits to last much longer.

    1. Thanks for your feedback. I am so glad it has done you some good. It gives me hope.
