What Have You Learned

We all can learn something daily about those around us and ourselves. As you walk on your lupus journey, What have you learned about yourself that you never knew?

  1. To ignore comments like, "Are you sick again?"
"How many doctors do you see and you are still not better."
" You take a lot of medications"

    1. , that's pretty great that you have learned to ignore those types of comments! I know it isn't always easy.

      Best, Erin, Team member.

  2. I learned that I could be a patient and a caregiver at the same time for people that I love. I learned that I want to learn and obtain new skills (music and exercise} for pure enjoyment when I can (with a lot of adaptations) and to read every day to be informed and entertained. I learned that video games are a great distraction when pain rears its ugly head. I learned to subtract toxic people from my circle and to increase my time with supportive and fun people as much as possible. As the decades march on, I've learned a LOT. Love and support to all here. Every day is a challenge and every day is a new opportunity for joy. Embrace the joy whenever you can.

    1. ,
It sounds like you've learned quite a bit and have gained a wonderful mindset from your experience.
      Hugs, Doreen (Team Member)

  3. There is more to learn for me and for all of us. Thank you for the hug. I need it today, with my own evolving medical diagnosis and bad news about a relative - every day is a challenge. Hugs back to you too.

    1. , I hope you have had some time to process the bad news about your relative. Hopefully, it's something 'fixable'. And, if not, I hope you are able to adjust to the news and not let it impact your own physical or mental health (cause heaven knows that Lupus can be triggered by stress and no one needs a Lupus flare on top of bad news)!

      Best, Erin, Team Member.

  4. Thank you, Erin. I'm working on it!
