tremors

Has anyone ever gotten tremors? Twice now, I have gotten tremors that were like my whole body getting the shakes uncontrollably, and I got so cold that it was almost like chills, but it was more like it started with my hands and arms shaking really bad for a couple of hours, then it just went down my whole body. It lasted for several hours, then finally stopped, but my body was so exhausted I slept for about 12 hours. It was kind of scary. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I have lupus and Sjogren's.

  1. Hi, !

First off, I am sorry you have been experiencing tremors. While I know a couple of our members have mentioned experiencing tremors or shakes, I am not 100% certain their tremors were related to their Lupus. That said, I am not the expert on all things Lupus and perhaps people do occasionally experience tremors with Lupus. I don't know for sure. Also, some medications used to treat Lupus symptoms may list tremors as a potential side effect, so that's something to consider.

If you haven't done so already, I would definitely talk to your doctor about this issue and keep track of your episodes as well.

I found this information on another Lupus site and I thought you might find it helpful -- https://www.mylupusteam.com/resources/tremors-and-lupus-what-to-know-about-feeling-shaky. I hope this is useful for you and that you get some helpful feedback from other community members that have experienced tremors.

    Best, Erin, Team Member.
