Cutaneous lupus
I have both systemic and cutaneous lupus. I’m wondering if anyone else out there with cutaneous lupus experiences skin shedding. I periodically, almost like a lizard, go through periods when my skin gets extremely dry and literally peels off in pieces. No amount of lotion helps. It eventually all peels off and there is normal skin underneath.

I know some of our members deal with skin peeling and shedding and I do hope they comment on this post. I know you mentioned using lotions, but are you using regular lotions, like Johnson & Johnson or Vaseline or medicated lotions? There are some tips for managing skin issues in this article -- https://lupus.net/living/discoid. And, if you haven't done so already, I woul talk to your rheumatologist about this. There are prescription creams that may help, if you're not already using them.
