Has anyone had their senses of sight, smell, touch, taste, and/or hearing impacted by lupus? What is that like? Does anyone here have creative solutions to cope with this?

, thank you for sharing! I bet members like appreciate information like this.
Hi, . I know some of our community members deal with altered senses and I thought you might find this recent article right on topic for you -- https://lupus.net/living/altered-senses. Lupus can definitely affect a person's senses, either directly or indirectly. Also, this link is a compliation of members' 'weird and unusual' Lupus symptoms, including sensory issues -- https://lupus.net/living/strange-lupus-symptoms. Definitely talk to your doctor if you are experiencing any hearing loss, loss of sense of smell, etc. While they could be linked to your Lupus, they could also be caused by any number of other conditions. Either way, your doctor may be able to help.
I hope this information helps and if you have any tips for dealing with these issues, please feel free to share them!

, Thanks for sharing. That must be frustrating. It's important to note, that in addition to lupus, steroids and immunosuppressants can also cause eye complications. We always recommend discussing these changes with your healthcare provider. All my best, Doreen (Team Member)
