Trush vs Lichen Planus

I've been diagnosed years ago with severe candida. I've also had patches that remind me of what I've read about lichen planus.. I started researching and discovered both pertaining to problems with lupus. Has anyone else had this? It's made my mouth very painful but I also get oral ulcers so not sure about my mouth pain bit it's significant. Thrush

  1. , So sorry you are dealing with so much pain and discomfort! While we wait for other people in the community who can relate to chime in, I thought I would share an article we have that explains some of the connections between lupus and nose/mouth ulcers: https://lupus.net/symptoms/ulcers Hope this information is helpful! Sending hugs,

    1. Thank you Gabby. My doctor gave me some Diflucan in case it is thrush. Seemed to make better but still there. Will have to f/u with him again.

      1. sorry you are going through this it is the absolute worst. I used to get thrush a lot early on in my diagnosis. The ulcers always come and go and really is a true symptom of lupus. When I got the thrush the doctor used to prescribed an oral wash that would be swallowed and it would clear it up I. About a week. The medication is called nystatin (Mycostatin) you swish and swallow. It’s the nastiest stuff but it really works for me to quell the thrush and pain. You can also do popsicles, ice cream and chilled soup to quell the burn and pain. I hope this helps some. ~Racquel~ lupus team member
