Heat and flares

For those in the high heat areas how does the heat affect you? Many think heat is better but for me it agitates my body and brings on flares.

  1. Hey there! I've started tracking habits and things I do on a day to day basis and before i was diagnosed with lupus I never would have thought that heat/sunlight was causing issues for me... I've always burned super easy.. I mean like outside for a half hour to a hour and I'm beet red. Then when I'm outside for longer than a hour I swear I'm completely zapped the rest of the day which really sucks because I take my 2 year old outside every nice day we have a few hours a day... I noticed blotches on my arms starting to appear after only being outside like 20 minutes and sometimes I'll get tiny little purplish red spots on my legs, feet and stomach area. Not to mention the redness on my face which I now know is a malar rash. I've had the redness on my face for probably 4 or 5 years I think... always thought some people just have a reddish face. Idk... but anyways yeah. Now that I've been using a daily tracker app called bearable I'm definitely starting to see a correlation between symptoms and heat and being outside.

Attached a picture of a hour and a half spent outside today.

    1. ,
Thanks for sharing your experience and picture.
I can certainly feel your exhaustion through this picture.
The daily tracker app sounds like a wonderful idea. It's great to hear how it helps track your symptoms and puts some of the puzzle pieces together.
