Eyebrows

I have Permanent hair loss on my eyebrows, looks like alopecia, I had permanent make up done before I was diagnosed with SLE lupus, since then I use pencil but is frustrated in the summer. Any recommendations?
thank you I appreciate any ideas.

  1. Hi, !

I am sorry you are dealing with permanent hair loss, particularly with your eyebrows. Honestly, it sounds like you are doing all of the things I would suggest, so I do hope other community members can chime in with helpful ideas. Is the frustration coming from the sheer work of penciling in your brows in the summer or is it because the pencil doesn't last all day in the heat? Perhaps other community members would have some make up recommendations if that's the case.

I am sorry I don't have any great ideas!

    1. I have the same problem. I had a kidney disease before they realized what was causing it was SLE. They did chemo and high dose steroids to fix the problem, but I lost most of my hair and all of my eyebrows. Thank the Lord my hair grew back, but my eyebrows did not. I have to pencil them in everyday and you are right they don't usually last in the summer months. I carry a pencil in my purse so I can retouch them when I need to. Hopefully someone else has some idea what to do. Sorry I am not more help.

      1. , not to butt in here, but I think your comment actually IS quite helpful! One of the worst things about a chronic illness like Lupus is that it can make you feel like you are alone in what you are going through. Your comment let know she's not alone in experiencing this. And that can really help a person feel a bit better. So, thank you for taking the time to comment!
