  1. ,
I'm sorry to hear what you've been going through.
Digestive issues and lupus seem to be quite common. That being said, long term antibiotics (as well as other medications) can lead to an array of digestive issues.
You may want to reach out to your healthcare provider to discuss these digestive issues and your options.
In the meantime, I wanted to share this article that you may find helpful: https://lupus.net/living/digestive-symptoms.
All my best, Doreen (Team Member)

  2. Hi, ! I can't really add to what Doreen wrote, so I just want to piggyback on it and say that I do hope you are able to get to the cause of your digestive distress and get some healing! It definitely could be the long term antibiotics use or something else altogether. Talking with your doctor is the best route to go.

    Best, Erin, Team Member.

  3. Thank you for your support
I do have ulcerative colitis so I watch what I eat but in saying that being on antibiotics which by the way I’m back on I was on two antibiotics now one and then more tests to see if they killed it if not hospitalized I go another thing on the eating side of things I have no appetite because of the medicine so I’m plugging away barley.
Hugs and best wishes to everyone here.

    1. , oh, boy! I know antibiotics can really do a number on one's gut health, let alone when you are dealing with an issue like ulcerative colitis! I do hope the infection/issue is fully cleared up and that you can get and stay off the antibiotics for a good long time! And that your gut health can be repaired, as much as possible. If you are interested (and I do hope I haven't previously suggested this to you and forgotten!), we have a sister site dedicated to Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (including ulcerative colitis) -- https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/. I hope your 2026 starts looking up, that you are infection free, and that your appetite starts coming back!

      Gentle Hugs, Erin, Team Member.
