How to deal with gastritis

  1. ,
Gastritis, as well as other digestive issues, can be quite bothersome.
One of our community members shared this article, which may offer some helpful information: https://lupus.net/living/digestive-system

It's unfortunate that digestive issues are all too common with lupus.
Hopefully others in the community will chime in here with their experiences/help.

If you haven't yet, you may want to reach out to your healthcare provider to discuss options that may provide some relief.

  2. Hi, !

First, I am sorry you are dealing with gastritis. It can be quite painful and uncomfortable. Just so you know, one cause of gastritis can be regular use of NSAIDS (Aleve, Advil, etc). And many people living with Lupus use NSAIDS to manage their pain levels. So, if you haven't done so already, I would definitely discuss your gastritis with your doctor/rheumatologist. While I couldn't dig up any specific information about managing gastritis (beyond what Doreen shared with you), I did find some basic tips on a reliable site I trust, Mayo Clinic -- https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/gastritis/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20355813. I do hope you you get some relief from the symptoms you are experiencing!

    Best, Erin, Team Member.
