My Story Living with Lupus

When I was diagnosed with lupus I didn’t understand it. I was 601/2. My body the pain in my abdomen that felt like I was being stretched my legs hurt all time my back felt like a cutting in my lower part.

Struggling to Find a Treatment That Works

One Rheumatologist treating me with plaque. Which caused my heart to race and chest to hurt, so that was a no go for me. Now I can’t sleep. This stuff comes up in my chest and throat and almost chokes me. I have to getup and stay up. My legs and feet hurt so bad it feel as though a string is around the middle of my feet choking them. The new rheumatologist said he didn’t know what else to do for me. The next appointment was with another nurse practitioner in his office who took more blood test.

Living with Constant Pain and Exhaustion

When I went there that time, I tell you the pain was severe. I was told to take some arthritis meds. I called back concerned about my test, still in a lot of chronic pain, and communicated over the phone it’s the lupus. At the time I was already taking Duloxetine, diclolofenac Sodium, which works great took the swelling down in my legs and stoped the pain for at least 2-3 days. Sadly, then it returns but I was told is not good for a long period of time. It damages the body... and don’t forget thst prednisone isn't good for me either. I sometimes can’t walk both legs are bad I have began to use a cane sometimes. I am so weak and tired I haven’t been back to the rheumatologist.

Feeling Dismissed by My Doctors

I canceled the first visit because I was so sick I didn’t feel like being ignored. I was already told by him I don’t know what else to do for you. So, I just took Tylenol and prayed and cried. The second cancelled appointment was a court day for my brother. I am in bed as I write sick now, just resting.

Finding Comfort in Sharing My Story

I am tired and really just want a good night sleep without all the pain and joking they say God will not give us more than we can bare. I feel good just being able to express myself after reading the stories. Thank You do much for this site!
