Finding New Ways to Enjoy the Sun

I wasn't diagnosed with lupus until I was 74. Earlier in my life I was like a sunflower, always in the sun, really bronzed and feeling happy. Once I stopped being able to go into the sun it made me sad. Now I have finally bought a shade for the pool so i can safely go out and still feel that happiness. I bought bathing suit that covers my body so I can still enjoy time floating in the pool. It can take time to change how your mind handles things. I have learned to change how I do the things I love so I can enjoy it safely. Now there are larger umbrellas for decks which I'm trying this year. We'll see how it goes, I'm not inside person.
