31 Year Anniversary with Lupus and Kidney Disease

It was 31 years ago today that I found myself lost in a whirlwind of confusion and fear, with a barrage of medical issues that left doctors scratching their heads.

The answers I desperately sought were elusive, until pain pushed me to my breaking point, compelling me to demand further investigation into my health. It all came crashing down when, after enduring countless tests and waiting anxiously for three long months, I was finally diagnosed with lupus and stage five kidney disease in 1995.

My ongoing battle

What followed was a battle against the odds, organ failures including Heart, Lungs, Liver, joint replacements, Brain Disease, a clinical trial, 2 Kidney Failures that led me to dialysis.

Yet, through each trial, I discovered my inner strength, transforming me into the Warrior I am today, a proud Male Lupus Warrior.

Facing adversity head-on

I have faced adversity head-on and emerged resilient, fueled by the understanding that my journey is far from just my own. With no regrets, every challenge I've encountered has been a stepping stone, empowering me to support and guide others who walk this difficult path.

As I celebrate this significant anniversary, I reflect on the trials that have shaped me and the countless lives I’ve touched along the way. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to help fellow warriors in this space, honored to stand alongside them in their battles. This anniversary is not just a marker of years gone by, it is a testament to my strength, to the power of our community, and to the belief that together, we can overcome anything.
