Introducing the Social Health Network and Awards Program

Last updated: July 2022

Editorial Note: Nominations for 2022 are now closed.

We are very excited to announce the launch of the Social Health Network and Awards! The Social Health Network is a community for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals with the goal of bringing empathy, support, and humanity to the healthcare industry.

What is social health?

We define social health as the dynamic, real-time action people take to find meaningful connections and share information that impacts the health journey. Our extensive research in social health and the patient experience, and continued patient leader partnerships, have given us the perfect opportunity to launch the Social Health Network.

“Social health is sharing our stories to support each other. It’s a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles.” – Social Health Network member Gabrielle

Introducing the Social Health Awards

Have you heard about the Social Health Awards? The Social Health Awards, previously known as the WEGO Health Awards, is an awards program aimed at recognizing patient leaders who are making an impact for others in the community. Nominations for the Social Health Awards are open now and run until July 1.

Go ahead and nominate a patient leader (or several) who has made an impact in your community! Award categories include Caregiving Champion, Community Cultivator, and Advocacy Trailblazer, to name just a few. There are so many incredible people within our communities. Give them some love, and show them how much you appreciate them.

The Social Health Awards are split into four phases:

  • Nominations | June 13–July 1
  • Endorsements | June 27–July 1
  • Judging | July and August
  • Celebration | September and October
