What phrases are you tired of hearing?
When you tell people you have a chronic condition, like lupus, people have a tendency to speak without thinking... Phrases such as "But you don't look sick," is often stated to lupus warriors. What phrases are you tired of hearing, or conversations are you tired of having when you tell someone you are living with lupus?

I find people often think it's just an illness that "makes you tired" ...they have no idea of the complexity, complications or seriousness of the disease and how much it affects you both mentally and physically every single day.

this is so true. I had someone tell me that they were “so sorry you have a skin disease!” I didn’t even bother responding. Bc we know lupus is so much more than just skin issues. Many of us do have skin issues. But we also deal with so much more. Amber (lupus.net team moderator)

My friend has (insert any auto immune disorder) and does such and such. You should try that!
same or you should go to my dr they are the best and somehow I will be cured ugh I wish it’s usually some Chinese tea or some random lotion given by a holistic dr. I have no problem with holistic drs at all. But if I had a dime for every time someone has suggested some off the wall treatment. I’d have a lot of dimes. Lol. Sigh. Amber (lupus.net team moderator)
