The Wicked Movie

I am a huge Wicked/Wizard of Oz fan. My oldest sister got me hooked at a very young age. Without any spoilers, I can totally identify with Elphaba. (Wicked Witch of the West) and feeling ostracized in rooms with doctors, family and even friends due to having lupus. My question to you all is how do you handle feeling alone and shunned sometimes because you can't do what you used to or because of some scars or simply because you are out of sorts from pain?

  1. I love this question, !

While I will never claim to understand another person's lived experience with Lupus, I can say that for my own health issues, I tend to just keep my emotional armor on until I am in a safe space with people who know and understand me and accept me and all my struggles.

And, I really do need to so see Wicked, apparently!

    1. I love how you said emotional armor. Sometimes we forget the importance of staying and keeping ourselves emotionally safe. Such a great point. ~Racquel~ Team Member

  2. Rachel Dozier, thank you for your question. I sat with it over lunch in order to come back with a great response. Haha, I got nothing, except that I really don't feel alone or shunned. Actually, I protect my alone time even more now than ever before. This is how I maintain my energy and peace.

    1. LOL on the great response. What you said is spot on. protecting that alone time to conserve your energy and stay in that peace is so important. Great response ! ~Racquel ~team member
