Are you coping with ITP or SLE?

Today marks 5 years that I was diagnosed with ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura) which led me to be diagnosed with SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus). Why do I feel like I'm always on a downward spiral?

  1. , those are both tough diagnoses. My heart goes out to you - it must have been a hard five years. I understand how you feel, I've been chronically ill for about five and a half years and I feel like a lot of my symptoms have gotten worse while few have improved. It's frustrating to seek out new treatments and wait to see how our body responds to them, if at all. Are you having a flare up or something specific that's making things hard right now? Many people in this community are going through rough times and we're here for you. Thank you for sharing with us. -Ava, lupus.net team

    1. , It can definitely feel that way. When so many things are coming at you at one time it can be so overwhelming. Sometimes it helps to stop and take some deep breaths and write everything that you are feeling on paper. This helps to really release those feelings and allows you to feel a little less stressed. Dealing with so much can take a toll on you so we definitely have to try different things that help us cope. We definitely understand and have been there with you on many day. I hope today is a better day for you. ~Racquel~ lupus.net team
