Fatigue!

There isn't a thing you can do to improve fatigue. I sometimes get up feeling fatigued! But usually I'm good waking up and getting out of bed. My days start slow and I work up to getting chores done. If I'm lucky I'll have about maybe three hours to get things done. Then as we call it in our home, Momma just fell off the cliff...the fatigue has me in its web and I'm done. I can barely move or there have been occasions that I just can't get to the bathroom in time...that only tends to frustrate me more.
It's taken me a lot of time to figure out how to work around the fatigue and still get what needs to be done done. I know I have roughly about three hours. It takes a good hour to an hour and a half just for my body to wake up and function and move. Then the clock starts and I try to get busy to get what needs done...but there are those days the fatigue just isn't gonna let go...I then know today won't be very productive at all. The things I hate worse about Lupus, Is you can go to bed feeling pretty darn good...wake up unable to move, or get out of bed. Maybe have an accident you know you gotta clean up but can't and lay in it. Yes, Lupus can demoralize you and in some ways shame you. But I'm grateful that I've learned to overcome those things these days. I'm grateful to still be breathing and enjoy some days I get. The good days seem further away and less but I'm still here and I do my best to enjoy each day I do get. Tomorrow isn't promised...so each day I do get is a Gift I need to enjoy.

  1. I am glad you took the time to share your perspective on Lupus related fatigue, ! I think you're right; there's only so much you can do to find off the fatigue. Somedays, it's gonna win no matter what you do!
