Face Symptoms and Steroid Side-effects

"Hi I am new to this forum. I have lupus and for the last 5 weeks I have had a very sore face and neck and my face became extremely tight and itchy. I was put on 2 courses of steroid tablets but it has left my face extremely wrinkled I am still having a strange feeling in my face has anyone else suffered with this? Under my skin it feels like there is something crawling I know it may sound odd but it has really changed my appearance"

I have experienced the itchy skin and tight and sore. Usually when I notice it it is because a flare is coming on. The itching can be relentless. I would speak with your doctor. I know I had to take a round of antihistamines to help the itch and when the itch was gone the tightness and soreness went away . Definitely speak with your doctor and see what he suggests to help with it all. I hope you get some relief soon. ~Racquel~ lupus.net team member
