Does anyone suffer from constipation?

Hi all. I'm on vacation with my husband and son. Dealing with pain and fatigue have been difficult enough but now I'm constipated, too. I feel bloated and nauseous. I took one Ducolax tablet but it did nothing. Tomorrow is Easter and I don't want to take another tablet and then wind up in the bathroom all day tomorrow. Is there anything else I can do to get things moving but not moving too much (lol)? I take hydroxychoroquine and I thought that I would be having the opposite problem.

  1. , I'm sorry to hear you have been dealing with this on vacation! 2. Hi! I’m sort of an expert on constipation, life long sufferer. Discovered when I was 45 I have 2 feet extra large colon! Explained a lot. But not until the last 3 years that I found a gastroenterologist that actually helped me and at 74 years of age I’m pretty normal. I started out taking Miralax with 1/2 teaspoon of Benefiber every day. I slowly increased Benefiber and as time went on I took the ingredients every other day, then every third day. Now on average I take it once a week. Miralax really is a miracle, it’s not a laxative, it puts moisture into your colon. I would definitely let your doctor know you’re going to try this if you’re prone to constipation.

      1. , thanks for sharing this information! I know that Miralax has been really beneficial for many folks and I am glad it's helpful for you, too!

Thank you again for sharing and I hope you continue to stay regular 😉

    3. I am the total opposite. I go to the bathroom constantly. Nothing stays in me. My husband does suffer from constipation and we’ve resorted to increasing his fiber intake. Prune juice, oats, applesauce mix it all together and take 2 tablespoons a day has also helped him. ~Racquel~ lupus.net team member
