, I know a few of our patient leaders have mentioned experiencing muscle spasms as a symptoms during flares. I'm not sure if this article is relevant, but muscle spasm and involuntary movement is one of the warning signs associated with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), which occurs more commonly with lupus: https://lupus.net/clinical/nmosd. I can't say if this is something you are experiencing, but it might be worth talking to your doctor about!

sometimes I get tremors, jitters and occasional finger, toe jumps and often eye twitches. I feel like they come when I’m stressed out in some way. It’s no fun at all. When I spoke with my doctor he stated sometimes medication can cause those issues. ~Racquel ~ lupus.net team member
