Peripheral neuropathy

Has any dealt with peripheral neuropathy? It started with my feet and then my hands and now it seems it is attacking my skin all over my body. My skin hurts everywhere. Pins and needles would best describe it. Just having clothes touch my skin hurts. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and can suggest anything that will help.

  1. While we wait for others in the community who have experienced similar symptoms to chime in, I thought I would share a link to an article that was written by one of our Rheumatologist health leaders about neuropathy and treatment options: https://lupus.net/living/neuropathy I hope you are able to find relief soon!

    1. Thank you!😊

      1. Sorry you are dealing with this. Yes, I get this at times, and it is a horrible feeling. When I spoke with my doctor about it, we decided to watch it to make sure it wasn't something more than just neuropathy. Honestly it comes and goes so sporadically it's hard to pinpoint if it's neuropathy or something like fibromyalgia. What has your doctor said about dealing with it? For me I kind of suffer through when it starts up. ~Racquel~ lupus.net team member

        1. My doc prescribed prednisone😒 but it doesn't really work. I've been dealing with it for about 6 months so they are sending me to a neurologist.

          1. I gotcha. I think the only thing that really worked when I had shingles was lyrica for the neuropathy at it's worse. When I stopped it those episodes definitely came back. I hope the neurologist can help to find some relief. ~Racquel~ lupus.net team member
