Methotrexate injections
I have just started (4 weeks) on 10mg methotrexate by injection. My problem is I am having severe uncontrollable bouts of diarrhoea. I'm afraid to leave the house at the moment. I have just had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy and they were all clear so I can only assume it is the methotrexate. Anyone else having this problem? It is both duplicating and humiliating. Please help if you can.
So sorry you are having this issue. It can be so difficult to do anything. I am on the pills 6 every week and had short bouts with the diarrhea. I am quite regular with good stools but when I first started methotrexate it was runny. I spoke with my doctor and he said to give it a couple of more weeks and to really hydrate and we would reevaluate. After the 6th week I was back on regular track. It's like my body had to get used to it. I would definitely let the doctor know and drink loads of water. I so understand what you are going through.
