Anyone else having balance issues or TIA's?

This question comes from the community member Mrschp:

"Has anyone ended up with balance issues? Over the past two months, I have fallen four or five times. I can't remember if there was a warning but all of the sudden I'm on the ground. It takes a long time for me to get up. At first, I can't find any strength so it takes about 15 minutes. Does lupus make you prone to transient ischemic attacks (TIA's)?"

  1. thank you for being a part of our community and sharing your experience with us. As we wait to see who else the community can relate, I thought I would share a link to a story from another community member who also experienced TIA's while living with lupus: https://lupus.net/stories/lupus-diagnosis. You are not alone!

    1. first. Please take TIA very serious.
Second if TIA is not an issue for you look into vertigo...
Your ears and eye will be the first checked out.
Third if your still having issues an not getting anywhere ask for a good PT exam for vertigo...a PT told me nearly 3years ago my vertigo was coming from old neck and back issues..the PT exercises I learned have helped a greatly. I do them in small set through out the day. Take care 💖

      1. I've only had issues with balance when I experience brain fog or in a lupus flare. As far as I know with TIAs Antiphosphilipid syndrome (APS) can cause this. I would speak with your doctor to make sure this is not what is going on. I hoope you found some answers. ~Racquel~ lupus.net team member
