Telangiectasia

Has anyone with discoid lupus tried Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy to treat telangiectasia?

  1. I have not experienced this personally but my late sister used to use it. I don't really remember if she said it worked much. I hope some others will chime in. ~Racquel~ lupus team member

    1. My main concern is that because sunlight causes discoid lesions I don't want to try to get rid of these "spider veins" on my face if it will cause more lesions! The dermatologist I saw for rosacea doesn't do IPL but thought my skin would look better and said she thought the different type of light "might" be okay.

      1. I’ve been doing IPLs for years and it works for me. I keep my face shaded and use sunscreen as much as possible for longer results after my IPL.
