Is this SLE?

Hello!

I'm a 34-year-old woman and making doctors puzzled with my skin and symptoms. I have fatigue, joint and muscle ache, headaches, tingling (fingers and toes), slightly elevated temperatures at times and now odd rash!

It started when my left foot and sole started aching, then suddenly overnight my hands got so sore, swollen and then rash! Nothing won't work, doctors have given me antibiotics, cortisol cream and antihistamine.

Now they suspect dermatomyositis or SLE. I already have three other autoimmune diseases.

Could you take a look at these pictures and tell me does this seem like SLE? THANKS!

  1. Hi ,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear how challenging it has been for you. Unfortunately, we are unable to give out medical advice over the internet (for your own safety). However, if you haven't yet, I would consider reaching out to a rheumatologist. Many in this community have found a rheumatologist helpful in diagnosing and treating lupus.

    1. I'm sure it's frustrating with all that is going on. SLE is very vast and not easy to pinpoint one thing that it would look like. I would be safe and ask your doctor. Lupus manifests in everyone so differently and it's best to talk with your physician to be sure. I hope you get some answers soon. ~Racquel~ lupus team member

      1. I have Lupus SLE,my lupus is arthritis,it’s mainly in my back.Pain on top of pain before my doctor could get it under control.Other than my rheumatologist I’m in pain management ,arthritis has been so bad I’ve had both knees replaced and one hip.Pain is so bad some days I can’t get out of bed.I now have to walk with a cane,my balance is off so bad I’ll fall .It’s hard to deal, but I make it happen,I work through my pain.As was stated earlier Lupus hits everyone differently.I know there is no cure, but I pray one day someone will find a cure,I’m 64 now .
