Anyone else get hard, painful lumps in their armpits?

These are a fairly recent thing. This is the second time I’ve had them. I’m just assuming that they’re one more of the many weird things that happen to my body as a result of lupus. I could never have imagined that one disease could cause so many different, strange issues. It’s definitely been a learning experience. I’m constantly researching and learning more symptoms and illnesses that can accompany lupus.

  1. Hi, ! I am sorry you are experiencing these painful lumps. Just to be safe, we always recommend checking in with your physician when you experience a new or worsening symptom. That said, Lupus can have some tag along conditions, like rashes and lumps. Here is one kind of lump people with Lupus may experience -- https://lupus.net/living/hidradenitis-suppurativa. Also, as you probably know, we have lots of lymph nodes in our armpit area, so you may want to make sure you aren't experiencing swollen lymph nodes (a pretty common symptom of Lupus) -- https://lupus.net/symptoms/swollen-lymph-nodes. I hope this information helps and that you get some relief from the lumps VERY soon! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions.

    1. Thank you for your response. This is the second time I’ve had this. I did contact my physician the first time and he prescribed antibiotics. The lumps went away after taking the antibiotics. I was just curious if the condition could be a side effect of lupus. Thus my question if any other team members experience this.
