So Dumb I Am

Well, I did it again. I went to the pharmacy to pick up my meds and the pharmacist asked for my address to verify and I couldn't remember my house number. I've lived here for six years! I gave him the wrong house number- it was one from an old address from 8 years ago. In my defense.the house numbers were quite similar but still...I don't know my own address? I felt soooo stupid and the pharmacist must have thought I was a moron...
When I got home I turned off the ignition and lost the keys before I even opened the car door. I looked for them for 20 minutes. Finally, I just went in and told my boyfriend I lost the keys. He went to look and found them in less than 5 minutes. And I felt stupid again for the second time in less than an hour. Now I don't feel like I trust myself anymore and that really sucks.

  1. Oh, goodness, ! I hate when those brain fog moments happen at the worst times! I have forgotten my own phone number more than once. My kids laughed because once I was looking everywhere for my sunglasses . . . that were on my face.

Still, I know these moments can be funny but sometimes they are just embarrassing and frustrating. I know stress and fatigue always make my brain fog moments worse, or when I am rushing.

I hope tomorrow is a better day!

    1. Aww I Know that feeling too well. It happens especially when brain fog hits. I know exactly how you feel and have done those things as well. I have even driven down the wrong side of the street and gotten angry when people were beeping me. SMDH. I've also forgotten how to spell my own name.

Gentle hugs to you don't be too hard on yourself. Brain fog is so relentless. ~Racquel ~ Team Member

      1. Racquel H. Dozier Racquel, thank you for your reply. You actually made me laugh a little when you said you forgot how to spell your name because I could totally see myself doing that, too. It's comforting to know that it's not just me...💜

      2. I'm glad I was able to give a chuckle. Sometimes all we can do is laugh and keep it moving. It's definitely not just you. ~Racquel~ team member

    2. Because of my brain fog issues I have had to use a small pocket notebook to write notes to myself where the stores I visit are and where my drs are to get to my appointments. U am so embarrassed.

      1. gentle hugs I have had to do that to. I tell people all the time excuse me I am in a fog and I have to write it all down. I know the feeling of embarrassment I have definitely felt that way before. I have sense just accepted it and tell people in advance what's going on. ~Racquel~ team member

    3. Oh, yes. It is a huge problem for me, and I am babysitting my twin grandkids and just keep forgetting everything and being a mess. I don't trust myself at all!

      1. , listen, babysitting grandkids, let alone TWINS, is gonna wear anyone out, so have some grace for yourself. That said, I know Lupus can really make even day-to-day activities much harder.

I hope you have some time to recover form your babysitting duties this weekend!

      2. So hard to deal with and then when you are taking care of others it can be downright frustrating. I am holding space for it to get a little better day to day. ~Racquel~ Team Member
