Question for the ladies

Good Evening All:

I am new to this forum. I am blessed to report my sle lupus is in remission. I truly thank God!!

Ladies, I am working on a project to help women with lupus. My question is, what barriers do you face everyday that keep you stuck? For example is it guilt, low self esteem, lack of self confidence, or anything? What is it that has stopped you in moving forward.

Thank you for your responses in advance! My picture

    1. Good Day Gabby,

It is my passion and joy.

  2. So glad to hear that your lupus is in remission, that's wonderful! It's also great that you're working on a project to help others - so many women with lupus could use some help. My biggest barriers include pain, difficulty processing information, lack of motivation (usually because I'm already tired and in pain), lack of support, not enough time to work on myself (have two little kids), money - lupus is expensive, access to things I need to help me cope with my symptoms, and definitely self-confidence. I haven't lost the baby weight and, as much as I try to give myself grace, it's absolutely a barrier and makes me self-conscious when I try to go out and do things. Thanks for starting this forum! -Ava, lupus.net team

    1. of course! happy to be part of the conversation. What is the project that you're working on, if you don't mind me asking? -Ava, lupus.net team

    2. Hi Ava,
All of us are going through a lot of the same issues you are not alone. Feel free to direct message me, I would like to provide support to you. Ava, hang in there and know that you are not alone.

  3. What a great question. I am excited that your lupus is quiet and you have some relief. I would say for me the anger about having lupus sometimes keeps me stuck. Some of the issues I have faced with lupus were so overwhelming and it created a hard shell around me. I only let a few into my lupus world even though I advocate daily. It kind of keeps me stuck in getting angry about some of the issues lupus presents in my body and the nonsense some try to sell as a cure. ~Racquel~ lupus.net team member

    1. Thank you for taking the time to answer my inquiry. Thank you for being supportive of my blessing of healing.

Yes, I agree health challenges can get us stuck. However, in those moments we have to choose strategies to allow ourselves to be unstuck, I am speaking from personal experience. Racquel it takes work and we have to be consistent in doing the work.

A few ladies have also shared that they feel guilty about being ill. Guilt will keep us stuck also.

      Thank you again!
