I had a horrible experience the other evening.

My night of pain

My entire face turned red and hot and hurt like hell. I would give my pain a 10. It lasted for hours. I put cold on my face and eventually fell asleep. In the morning I called my doctor and she said it wasn’t my lupus. She did order a prednisone pack... She said if it happens again go to the emergency room.

Has anyone else ever had that happen?

<inline-mention username="Lindy Lou" user-id="4209285"/> so sorry that happened. That is very painful. I get flushed sometimes but I think mine is more menopause related. Sometimes when I’m out in the sun it happens as well. Did you notice if you had a fever or ate something different that may have caused it? ~Racquel~ lupus team member

no, I haven’t had that problem but when I’m hot or sometimes, when I’m drinking or eating certain foods, my face will turn red when you can see the butterfly rash but it never hurt

This happens to me often. I’m currently in my bedroom with my windows open and it’s 45 degrees because my face is so hot and burns. Drinking liquid iv packets help

Yes I am actually going through that right now it feels like my face is burning on fire I tried cold towels my face be so hot that the cold towel are warm in a few short minutes and it just happens randomly. So your not alone l.
