Years of Living Silently with Lupus Symptoms
Last updated: April 2022
I am 65 years old. I have had minor issues throughout my life, but always chalked them up to other things.
My first symptoms
In 2018 I developed a pulmonary embolism out of nowhere. Then I developed this rash after a beach vacation. Then another embolism. Then, in 2020, nephrotic syndrome, and the rash was diagnosed as cutaneous lupus. Finally diagnosed not only with SLE, but also lupus nephritis!
I had lupus for years
My nephrologist said to have developed stages IV and V of nephritis that I had, I would have had to have had lupus for years! I thank my docs for saving my life. Just keep fighting, you never know!❤️
