My Lupus Story
In 2010 I was experiencing chest pains & fatigue. I thought had the flu or a bad cold. Went to my PCP who then told my mom get me to the ER ASAP.
Learning I have systemic lupus
Fast forward had a X-ray and CT of the chest, that discovered I had pericarditis. However, the ICU was full so I stayed in the ER and was placed on IV medicine to reduce the fluid. 2 liters came off overnight and I spent 3 days in ICU. After many tests were performed I found out I have systemic Lupus. And have probably had it since birth. There are other family members on my dads side of the family who have it also.
I’ve had ups & downs through this journey but take less medication now than I did then.
