All Roads Lead to Autoimmune

I am a 75 year old woman who has spent a lifetime trying to recover from the different diagnoses I’ve received over the years from doctors.

For many years I have complained about different issues that were happening in and to my body. I looked at some medical records and I have at 50+ symptoms listed on the record and each physician I saw treated that rather than seeing all the symptoms and tying them to one diagnosis.

Getting answers

Autoimmune! After thirty years and four different primary physicians each diagnosis was separate from each other with the final diagnosis being Fibromyalgia still no one mentioned autoimmune. It wasn’t until a younger newer rheumatologist did blood test was it determined I had AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE and Lupus along with Fibro. Ive had so many years of a variety of meds and steroids.

Finding the right treatment for me

Seven years ago, I was diagnosed with stage one Triple Negative Breast Cancer, I was surprised with the diagnosis because I have gotten my mammograms faithfully each year. I went through chemo and radiation.
We go to doctor because we think they know what’s going on with us but after an exhausting amount of tests and medication, you get tired and take your health in your own hands. I stopped doing steroid shots and some meds that I believe have contributed to other issues I’m having and honestly I feel much better. I haven’t stopped meds like my BP, Tylenol for arthritis pain nor my diabetes meds but I want to see what it feels like to not be doped up.

I read an article about eating according to your blood type and I’ve been trying that and I no longer have stomach aches. So as I try to listen to my body and follow the signals.
My last blood test said my lupus was in remission hopefully I can keep it up.
