Lupus has not only shaped my health journey. It has also prompted me to become a vigilant advocate for myself. Especially when it comes to managing medical expenses and understanding insurance coverage.

We all know lupus can affect multiple systems within our bodies. From joint pain and fatigue to organ complications. The unpredictable nature demands constant monitoring and medical attention. Besides all of my health concerns, the last thing I want to worry about is the financial aspect of my care.
Therefore, I've made it a habit to inquire about things I don't know. I'm not afraid to ask questions when I need clarity. And I work hard to thoroughly understand every billing and insurance detail that comes my way.

Don’t panic
I recently received a bill for my infusion. To me, some of the charges looked a bit suspicious. I thought some of the costs should have been covered.
